NICU – Risks of Having a Preemie Baby!

Don’t let the title fool you because I am not going to literally talk about the risks here:)

What I am going to do is to refer you to a book called Premature Baby Book.

If you decide to read about the risks of having a preemie baby, please read the section titled Medical Challenges for the Premature Baby. It gives you a perspective in a realistic but not so harsh manner.

Section does not start listing out all the risks your preemie might have. It gives you some food for thought before you start reading about the risks:

- Do you really want to know the details about the all of the risks?

- Is it going to give you comfort or is it going to cause more worry?

- Are you ready yet?

- Would you rather skim through at this stage?

- Would you rather skip it completely for now?

- Or would you like to read it all and give yourself some time to digest the information?

I decided to read thoroughly. I admit it, some of the risks were my worst nightmares. But I had to know.
